Wedding Favors

So I wanted to keep favors as affordable as possible and still be something our guests would enjoy. I saw this cute idea of two rocks with the word Love inscribed but they were costly. So then I thought what else goes with rocks? Rock candy! Therefore I found some bulk rock candy off "Oh! Nuts" and for about $75 I received 120 sticks wrapped. I then purchased some ribbon for the bow and went on to Vista Print and made my catchy labels... Love Rocks!

Enjoy :)

Hello old friends

It's been so long since my last post. Time has just been flying by like one of those broken records that doesn't stop spinning! I watched the movie the other night Julie and Julia...I loved it! It was really inspiring publish a blog that people can follow and be interested in and want to check in every day and see what's new! So lately I have been thinking I want to change my blog but to what? I love a little bit of everything so it's hard to pinpoint. I don't know I will give it some more time but any suggestions would be a great help! I enjoy: reading, running, crafting, photography, painting, and the list goes on.

Thanks for your help!

Always,
Vanessa

Wedding Card Box

Well I needed a box for my gift cards at my upcoming wedding. I had this old box that was just for decoration and I didn't know what to do with it until now! I forgot to take a before picture but basically it looked the same except it was just black ribbon tied in a bow.

Here is after I jazzed it up!

I removed the old black ribbon and replaced with a purple ribbon
and ivory on top with a silk flower all attached by hot glue.

Creative Juices are flowing!

So tomorrow we are celebrating Michael's sister's 8th birthday (a little early) and I was at a loss for what to buy for an 8 year old. Well I was meandering through Michaels today and I found this wooden jewelry box and a wooden photo frame...both pretty dull and basic. So I thought I am sure there is something I can do with this because she loves crafts. I bought a few supplies (i.e., paint, rhinestones, letters, paper flowers) and everything else I had in my scrapbooking pile.

Here is the before...

and after...

The picture frame was pretty much the same (unfinished wood and dull) I don't have a before but here's the after...

I was hesitant at first but I am so pleased with the product. I think this could be a great idea for anyone looking for a gift for a younger child or even someone who just appreciates crafts and DIY projects.

What get's your creative juices flowing

Engaged!

On December 30, 2009, my loving boyfriend (well now fiance) asked for my hand in marriage. We enjoyed a nice dinner in Thornton Park and than a short walk around Lake Eola. It was so sweet because after he asked he told me he wished the fountain was working so it could be more special! I knew it would happen soon but I wasn't expecting it that night but I am so thankful it did. We enjoyed an amazing weekend in Fort Lauderdale the following days after. I am so excited to start the planning process and create a beautiful wedding for our family and friends to enjoy. Stay tunned for more updates!
